Sakura Festivali - 2025

Sabancı University's Tuzla Campus, home to Turkey's largest sakura population, hosted its second sakura event. The “Promise for the Future” Sakura Event, held on April 12, was attended by thousands of students as well as numerous distinguished guests from the business and academic worlds. The funds raised through the event were allocated this year as well to support young people in need through the “Promise for the Future” scholarship program.

Sabancı University held the second edition of its sakura event on April 12, commemorating the 100th anniversary of Turkish-Japanese relations.

The “Promise for the Future” Sakura Event at Tuzla Campus, home to Turkey's largest sakura tree population, was once again bustling with activity this year. At the event, decorated with sakura trees symbolizing rebirth in Japanese culture, funds raised were used to support successful and needy students studying at Sabancı University under the “Promise for the Future Scholarship Program.” 

At the Tuzla Campus, home to nearly 2,000 cherry trees, guests enjoyed manga workshops, sailing knot-tying, sumi-e (Japanese painting), sushi, perfume/essence, and shodo (Japanese calligraphy) workshops, as well as car test drives and various games. The event, which featured food and beverage, sales, and promotional stands, also included a gift raffle. The daytime program of the event was accompanied by a DJ performance, followed by Hey Douglas, Bir Adım Var Vakfı, and a Koto concert. After a full day, world-renowned composer and pianist Fazıl Say treated guests to an unforgettable musical feast at the gala concert held at the Sabancı Show Center.
